Michael has been playing old time fiddle music since the age of 4 and has gone on to develop his skills and become one of Manitoba’s most popular young ‘’Métis fiddlers’’. Michael has attended numerous fiddling competitions and Métis functions across Manitoba in an effort to promote old time fiddle music that has become such a major part of his life! His music comes from the ‘’Heart’’ and has been passed down to him from his grandfather Alex Carriere who also shares the love of the fiddle! Alex has played for over 60 yrs entertaining fiddle music lovers across Manitoba! It is because of the passion they both share for the music that the title of Michael’s first CD is so appropriately named! The music comes from the ‘’heart’’ and is a tradition that his family hopes will be rejuvenated in the spirit and passion of the great ‘’fiddlers of the past!!
